It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to be the women I am today. I have had the pleasure of knowing some unbelievably strong women and I stive each day to learn from them. Below are 13 characteristics that I see in the strong women that have influenced my life. This is a list of significant characteristics followed by short pieces of encouragement. Continue to follow my blog as I will feature stories and experiences about strong women that exemplify these thirteen.
- Leading with Positivity– Keep a positive mindset, speak positive words and surround yourself with positive people.
- Practicing Healthy Habits for a healthy you– Creating healthy habits like increasing your water intake, eating healthy, exercising, and limiting your alcohol intake will clear your mind and build your confidence.
- Always be learning and growing– Reading, taking classes, learning a new trade, taking risks, failing, seeking advice from a mentor, stepping out of your comfort zone are a part of learning and growing.
- Keep the order– God should always be number one in your life. Your spouse will fall at number two and your children at number three. Holding at number four is family and five is your home. Church comes in at number 6 and your main job falls at number seven. Hobbies and your plan B job fall at eight and nine. The order of these nine things is extremely important.
- Build others up– A saying I see often is “Real Queens fix each other’s crowns”. Be a real Queen!
- Turn away from Gossip– Remember that gossip is hurtful even if it is true. If someone gossips to you, do not stoke the fire. Proverbs 26:20 says, ” Where there is no fuel, a fire goes out; where there is no gossip, arguments come to an end.”
- Emotionally Stable– Keep in mind you can’t always control the situation, but you can control how you react to the situation.
- Always accountable– Keep your promises. Following through with what you say will show others you are accountable.
- Value Relationships and experiences– When God calls you home what will they say about you at your funeral? This: “Oh she had the most beautiful house, awesome cars and so much money”. That: ” She had such a kind heart and was generous with her time, I will miss her friendship dearly”.
- Have Boundaries– Always know it is ok to say no and have boundaries.
- Great work ethic– A good work ethic reaches beyond your job description and into all of life.
- Be Generous– Be generous with your time and your money.
- Always be Open and Honest– Always be open and honest with yourself and others.
